Today, many children in Ogoniland, Nigeria do not have equal opportunity to education because they parents cannot afford the money for basic education. A recent research in Ogoniland also revealed that 40% of Ogoni children do not have elementary education, 60% of Ogoni children do not have secondary education, 75% of Ogoni children do not have college education, 90% of adults in Ogoniland do not have a full time employment; causing extreme poverty.
As a result of the extreme poverty in the area, parents are not able to afford money for their children's school fees, uniform, shoes, books, etc, those mostly affected are the ones who have lost their parents.
Help us bring clean water to villages in Ogoniland.
Clean Water Saves Lives:
Today, most people in Ogoniland obtain their drinking water from lakes and streams, and hand-dug wells. All of these sources are poor, Women and children walks up to five kilometers each day to haul water. The water is not only contaminated at its source but also from the way it is transported and stored.
Together, we will leave a legacy of better lives and better communities in Ogoniland. Our Clean Water Projects will bring relief to villages in Ogoniland who suffers needlessly from a lack of access to clean water.
Every day, hundreds of children died of water borne diseases. Whereas, as little as $6,500 can bring a new well installation at a school or community center and serve thousands of students.
